About Me

I am committed to providing you a safe, confidential space where you may talk freely and without judgement. As an integrative therapist with over 20 years’ experience, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to help you to understand where your difficulties may have begun, what can keep you feeling stuck in old habits or relationship patterns, whilst supporting you to connect more fully with what you most value in life.

Therapy is a collaborative endeavour. You are the expert on you and your life experiences, whilst I bring expertise from my training in a range of evidence-based approaches applied to a diverse range of individuals. We combine our areas of expertise in our work together.

For me, my work is a vocation and a way of being. I have a strong desire to help people, with genuine interest in each individual with whom I work and their story. I often find myself humbled by the courage and strength that people show in the face of adversity. I am told that I am a calm and patient person.

I began my helping career as a care worker and became an Assistant Psychologist working in adult mental health in the NHS in 2006. From here I spent a number of years working in different settings with adults experiencing both mental and physical health challenges. I trained as a Clinical Psychologist in East London- working in the NHS- and have continued to work within the NHS. Since my doctorate, I have specialised in the integrative model of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). I particularly value writing letters to my clients and developing visual ‘maps’ with them, both of which are key tools in this therapy.

My approach is relational at its heart; I look to understand how problems develop in connection with others, how we learn to treat ourselves and our bodies and how we can find healthier ways to relate both with ourselves and others. I specialise in eating disorders- especially Binge Eating Disorder- as well as management of long-term health conditions and personality disorders. Depression, anxiety disorders and low self-esteem are also areas in which I have much experience.

Alongside my therapy work I also train Counsellors on the BSc Counselling programme at the University of East London (UEL), as well as offering supervision and mentoring to trainee and qualified practitioners.

I am also an avid cloudspotter, reader and have a passion for interior design.

Please get in touch if you would like to enquire about therapy or if you have any questions about how I work.
